The Jefferson Chamber is a private, non-profit, membership-driven organization independent from Parish or State government. With over 1000 member businesses, the Chamber is committed to improving the quality of life and the economic, civic, and cultural environment in Jefferson Parish.

The Jefferson Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the beginning of its 2007 Total Resource Campaign, themed "Join Jefferson, Commit to Chamber Membership!"

"This year's campaign will focus on expanding the Chamber's Small Business Member base," Joan Mollohan, 2007 Campaign Chair, said, "During the campaign, we will utilize our new Special Campaign Membership Incentive Plans to attract small businesses. After all, these Incentive Plans have been created with their needs in mind. Our hard work in developing these plans conveys the message that the Chamber truly cares for the success of small businesses. It's the perfect start to a lasting relationship with the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce."

The goal this year is not only to grow the Jefferson Chamber, but to make the local business community more aware of the tremendous benefits it offers, from free online basic business skill training for employees, to networking events, to providing businesses a voice in legislation.

During the campaign, 15 plus corporate volunteer teams working on behalf of the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce to recruit new members, will renew existing members, secure budget reduction items and generate program and event sponsorships for the following year. Their dedication and enthusiasm will lead us to success.

We will hold our three Training Sessions at the Sheraton Metairie-New Orleans at the Galleria in the last week of August. The Sheraton Metairie-New Orleans at the Galleria and ATMOS Energy will sponsor one Training Session each. Soon thereafter, we will have our Kick-Off Party at the Treasure Chest Casino. Then, we will hold weekly Reward Sessions complete with prizes, provided by your supportive fellow Chamber members, and cash incentives.

Sponsors/hosts for the Sessions include the Radisson Airport, the Hilton Airport, the Marriott of New Orleans at Metairie, Ochsner West Bank, West Jefferson Medical Center, Longue Vue House and Gardens, and Lee Giorgio's West End Boat House.

Additionally, each campaign week that passes brings volunteers closer to achieving goals. They may possibly qualify for an all-inclusive resort trip for one or two persons if they succeed in meeting goals. The deserving volunteers will embark on this trip in the spring of 2008.

After seven weeks of hard work, we will celebrate success at the Victory Celebration sponsored/hosted by Andrea's Restaurant.

As we move forward with this year's campaign, remember that each of us and our businesses give meaning to the message "Join Jefferson, Commit to Chamber Membership!" Our hard work and dedication throughout this Total Resource Development Campaign shows prospective members and our local community that this is truly a commitment worth making.
